Woodlawn is located in Baltimore County, Maryland, and in the 2010 census, the population was counted at 37,879 people, continue reading below for more demographics. Woodlawn is directly west of Baltimore City and is approximately 9.6 miles. It is a census-designated area and dates back to 1904.

Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company

In 1941 the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company was founded for civil defense during World War II. After the war ended, the fire company started serving the local community. This volunteer department is joined by 32 other volunteer companies in Baltimore county.

Landmarks in Woodlawn

The Lorraine Park Cemetary Gate Lodge is a historic gatehouse in Queen Anne-style stone. It was constructed in 1884 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Also listed on the register in 1985 is St. Mary's Episcopal Church. It was built in 1873 and featured Carpenter Gothic styling.
