South Baltimore is a neighborhood located in the Southern District of Baltimore, Maryland. It lies south of the neighborhood of Federal Hill and west of Riverside and is bounded by East Ostend St. to the north, Light St. to the east, Race St. to the west and Interstate 95 to the south.

Part of Baltimore City County, the neighborhood has a population of 4,332 people and is considered one of the best places to live in Maryland. Swann Park

Swann Park is a neighborhood park in the southern part of South Baltimore. It is owned and managed by the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks. In 2007, the park was closed after its soil sample was found to be contaminated with arsenic produced from the former Allied Chemical Race Street plant that operated for 80 years on the property adjacent to the park.

In 2010, after a successful cleanup monitored by the Maryland Department of the Environment, it was reopened on May 22. Open from dawn to dusk, the 11-acre park offers recreation opportunities such as an open space, baseball and softball diamonds, and a soccer and football field. Regular park amenities include restrooms and drinking fountains.

South Point

South Point is a space for residents and visitors of South Baltimore to come and retreat from the daily grind. Situated at the bottom of the neighborhood, on the Middle Branch Patapsco River,  it offers an entertainment pavilion that includes a kitchen and full bar serving Atlantic-inspired pub eats and freshly-squeezed Maryland crushes.

South Point also features West Covington Park – a family-friendly and pet-friendly open green space. Guests have the opportunity to play in the retro arcade, relax and enjoy classic lawn games and experience the beauty of the waterfront sunset.
