The dog bite injury lawyers of New Carrollton present to you a guide to the community of New Carrollton. Our Maryland Injury Guys encourage you to check out this community.
New Carrollton is a city in the central area of Prince George's County, Maryland. It was built on the former estate of Edward L. Mahoney, a horse racing figure. After Mahoney died in 1957, the land was purchased by developer Albert W. Turner. Turner planned to create a suburb out of the City of Carrollton charter he received on April 11, 1953, from the Maryland General Assembly. Carrollton was named after Charles Carroll of Carrollton, an early Maryland settler and signer of the Declaration of Independence. However, on May 2, 1966, the community was renamed New Carrollton because there were already two communities in Maryland with the name Carrollton.
